Region 5 Consortium
The Region 5 Consortium, formerly known as Mayor Daley’s YouthNet, is a city funded program that works in conjunction with the Jane Addams Hull House Association and the Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services. Our main goal is to help children enrich their lives through Chicago Out of School Time programming (C-OST). We do this by referring youth between the ages of 6 – 21 to city and community programming for various services within Region 5. Our boundaries extend north to 55th street, south to 83rd street, and east to Lake Shore Drive and west to Harlem Avenue. Some of the programming the youth are referred to include: regional youth council, mentoring, tutoring, sports and recreation, field/exposure trips, and the Mayor Daley’s Summer Job Program.
The Region 5 Consortium participates in joint planning for the development and enhancement of youth services and projects within the 5th region. The Regional Consortium Coordinator (RCC) also works with over 30 social service organizations and community stakeholders in the city. Along with their assistance we can provide referrals for: after school and self-sufficiency programs, counseling, mental health care, job readiness and life skills training. Lastly, we provide service–learning and community service hours for youth up to 21 years old.
The Region 5 Consortium Coordinator is located in Parkway Community House, a Jane Addams Hull House Association site.
