Job Training
The Jane Addams Hull House Associate Job Training initiative includes three projects: the Kennedy King Project, the Mayor’s Office of Work Force Development (MOWD)/ Workforce Investment Act Program (WIA), and the Work First Program.
Kennedy King Project
We recently established a partnership with Kennedy King College to provide workforce development services for students and adults in the surrounding Englewood community. Opening on February 19, 2007, this collaboration serves 125 students and community members each year.
Mayor’s Office of Work Force Development (MOWD)/ Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
Created in 2002, our WIA program provides employment placement assistance to qualified Chicago residents, age 18 and over. Various means of supportive services are available to enhance employability and employment retention. Customers receive individualized case management, job placement services and the use of computers, telephones and fax machines to assist in their job search.
