The 4th Annual Fundraiser and Silent Auction of HELP was held on June 10 at Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery raising over $26,000.

Over 180 guests enjoyed delicious food and beverages while browsing the many silent auction items and guests on the roof deck enjoyed the lively music of Dr. Bombay. The evening culminated with the live auction of items such as airline tickets, fine jewelry, White Sox tickets and a weekend getaway in Michigan.
HELP, founded by Jacqueline Hayes in 2000, is a consortium of business, residential, religious, social service, institutional and volunteer leaders striving to promote an atmosphere of dignity and compassion toward those in need by providing access to food, health services, shelter and employment.
HELP works to educate local businesses and residents as to how they can help ease the plight of the homeless and disadvantaged and improve their well being, self-esteem and productivity.
HELP merged with Hull House Association in 2008.

Guests enjoying their weekly meal at Catholic Charities.
HELP provides meals every Wednesday evening along with quality of life services aimed to lessen the number of homeless in our community. The meals served are donated by area restaurants looking to make a difference in their community. In addition to being served a nutritious meal, guests are also able to visit with doctors and nurses, psychologists, social workers and receive HIV testing. During these meals, guests also have the option to sign up for drug rehabilitation, job training programs, homeless shelters and literacy tutoring. Please contact Cynthia Hirsch if you would like to volunteer at one of our meals.
Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming events such as the Calendar Project, Christmas Gift Bag distribution and Eyeglass Clinic.
