Grandparents Please
Grandparents Please is an innovative program that brings senior citizens 55+ years old and youth ages 7-13 together in an intergenerational mentoring program.
The program follows a curriculum with activities that focus on building self esteem, anger management, self image, african american history, building confidence and social etiquette. In addition, there are intergenerational field trips and special events.
Grandparents Please enhances the overall daily lives, emotional support and well-being of the senior mentors and youth participants. The program utilizes the lifetime of experience of local community seniors to assist and support local community youth.
Once bonds have been created between these mature and emerging personalities, program participants will collectively identify and address specific issues that will ultimately strengthen their community.
