Good Housekeeping Program

In our Good Housekeeping Program, we collaborate with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) to provide public housing residents the services they need to maintain their residence. The goals of the program are to ensure all residents are CHA lease compliant, and prepare residents for a smooth transition from public to private market housing.

Housekeeping Training Course
We offer an 8-week housekeeping training course, 6 times yearly.  At this training, we develop a comprehensive curriculum that includes input from staff and residents.  Curriculum topics include:

• Simple cleaning skills
• Household maintenance
• Purchasing supplies to fit a household budget
• The proper use of cleaning materials
• Reading and understanding labels

All residents who successfully complete the training program receive a certificate and a cleaning care package with supplies and materials.  Service Connector staff provide follow-up services 6 months after the completion of the training.
