Foster Parent Guidelines

Jane Addams Hull House Association is actively recruiting qualified individuals who are willing to open their hearts and homes to children in the foster care system through our Neighbor to Neighbor program and our Youth Connections program.

These individuals must have a willingness to work with children who have emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges. The role of the foster parent is critical in helping children lead safe, stable and productive lives.

Within our program, the role of the foster caregiver has been professionalized, as foster caregivers are hired as employees of Hull House, and provided with a salary and benefits.

  • Benefits Package (medical & dental insurance, short/long-term disability, paid vacation & holidays, credit union, etc.)

  • Attain 36 hours of in-service training each year
  • Provide a stable living environment, a sense of belonging, structure, acceptance and love
