CTC Computer Classes
We offer 3 different classifications of Computer classes: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. All LNN Computer Classes are limited to 6 participants. Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the LeClaire Neighborhood Network upon completion of the class. This certificate only certifies that you have completed a LNN Computer Class and is not recognized by any other entity. In order to complete the class, students must complete 75% of class attendance, class assignments, and skill comprehension. Classes may be canceled if enrollment is less than 50%.
All classes will be held at the LeClaire Neighborhood Network: 4446 South Laporte, Chicago, IL.
Basic
IC - Introduction to Computers- Learn the basics of operating a computer. Familiarize yourself with computers terms & definitions, parts of the computer, and the operating system.
Intermediate
WD - Microsoft Word - Learn how to use a word processing application to create & edit text and graphics in letters, reports, memos, and business forms.
XL - Microsoft Excel - Learn how to use a spreadsheet application to calculate and analyze numerical & textual data to create budgets, charts, and graphs.
Pub - Microsoft Publisher - Learn how to use a desktop publishing application to create flyers, brochures, newsletters, cards and invitations.
PP - Microsoft Power Point - Learn how to use a multimedia application to create presentations for slideshows and meetings.
IE - Internet & E-mail - Learn how to access the World Wide Web, surf the Internet and utilize e-mail.
Advanced
MOS - Microsoft Office Specialist - This globally recognized, standards-based curriculum validates desktop computer skills. MOS is the official Microsoft Office certification for desktop productivity, it is the premier credential chosen by individuals seeking to validate their skills and advance their careers.
IC3 - Internet and Computing Core Certification – This standard-based training and certification program for basic computing and Internet knowledge and skills. Successful completion of IC3 ensures you have the knowledge and skills required for basic use of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet.
