Community Schools

Jane Addams Hull House Association has community school partnerships with 5 Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Community Schools are public schools that develop partnerships with non-profit organizations.

Through our partnerships, we provide high-quality programs during the regular school day and out-of-school time that enrich students' educational experiences, and support families and strengthen communities.

Community Schools enable children and adults to participate in a variety of programs, ranging from arts and culture to literacy, math and technology. These programs are offered to both students and surrounding community residents, and are available during school days and after school hours, including evenings, Saturdays and summer vacation.

The goals of Jane Addams Hull House Association's Community schools include:

• Provide community members with support and opportunities to promote children’s learning and development
• Align out-of-school time programming with classroom learning
• Bring schools, families, and communities together by working towards common goals
• Coordinate the access to and provision of resources to children and families using schools as hubs.
