Center for Civil Society

In December 2006, Jane Addams Hull House Association announced the creation of the Center for Civil Society (formerly the Human Relations Foundation of Chicago).  This Center works to eliminate barriers to self-sufficiency by advocating for systemic change through the following measures:

  • Research systems that create and maintain racial and socioeconomic disparity
  • Educate the community about the implications of systemic racism and economic disadvantage
  • Create dialogue opportunities to generate relevant public discourse about critical social issues
  • Develop advocacy strategies for systemic change
  • Manage constituency-driven advocacy efforts
