“The good we secure for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for all of us and incorporated into our common life. ” – Jane Addams

About Us

“Civilization is a method of living and an attitude of equal respect for all people.” –Jane Addams

More than 100 years ago, our founder, Jane Addams, worked with Chicago’s neediest families to identify the resources they needed to become full participants in their communities.

We work from that same premise today. Jane Addams Hull House Association is still immersed in communities to determine what is needed where and when and how, why and by whom.

We also work to better the public policies that impact families and individuals through our Center for Civil Society. We expand on our social service knowledge and experience to enhance policy initiatives.
